BugHunter Professional BH-04 is an RF signal detector designed for professional use in the security sector. It is a full-featured anti-spy device aimed at detecting wireless spy equipment (spy bugs, hidden microphones and cameras, walkie-talkies etc.), both digital and analog. The device features an extra wide frequency range, two independent search channels with separate antennas, and a built-in frequency meter to identify frequencies of the detected spy bugs. Equipped with the informative indication system and other features, BugHunter Professional BH-04 easily detects all spy devices within the shortest possible time.
Key benefits
1. Two independent channels working in the frequency range from 10 to 8000 MHz. Each channel has its own antenna and a particular purpose. ANT1 channel is designed to search in the range from 10 to 2400 MHz, which the majority of spy devices operate in. It features high sensitivity and wide dynamic range (up to 70 dB) thus being capable of detecting even the lowest powered spy bugs. ANT2 is a high frequency (from 2400 to 8000 MHz) and high-speed channel capable of detecting even nanosecond signals. Using ANT2 allows detecting all spy devices (5.8 GHz digital and analog cameras, 2.4 and 5 GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules etc.). Therefore, BugHunter Professional BH-04 operates in the whole frequency range without dropouts.

2. Built-in frequency meter. The device is equipped with a high-sensitive and high-speed frequency meter. It identifies ranges of the most popular signals including GSM, DECT, BLUETOOTH, WLAN, 3G/4G/5G. Knowing the type of the detected signal makes it much easier to find spy bugs.

3. 3 modes of operation: search, oscillograph and protection mode. Search mode allows detecting and locating spy devices. Oscillograph mode is designed to display special graphs for analyzing the radio field and identifying the signal type. Protection mode is for constant monitoring the area after it has cleared from spy bugs.

4. Convenient and informative color LCD screen (320 x 340 px). When searching for spy bugs, the screen shows two graphs: peak values (red) and averaged values (blue) of the detected signals. These graphs show how the radio field changes over time. Peak values graph is used for detecting digital spyware as it depicts impulse signals. Averaged values graph indicates steady signals and serves for detecting analog spy bugs. Therefore, BugHunter Professional BH-04 is capable of locating analog and digital bugs simultaneously. By default the device displays radio environment for the last 7.5 seconds, but the user has an option to select other time frames: 2.5, 4.5, 7.5, 12 or 22 seconds.

5. Automatic and manual adjustment of sensitivity and vibration signal activation threshold. If required, the sensitivity of the device can be adjusted so that the graphs don’t go off scale. Vibration signal threshold can be adjusted, too. Two scales on the right part of the screen illustrate sensitivity level. The sensitivity can be adjusted both manually and automatically by long pressing "OK" button.

6. Background elimination function for removing interferences. This is a full-featured alternative to filtration as the latter only muffles powerful GSM and Wi-Fi signals which prevent the detector from locating low-powered spy bugs. BugHunter Professional BH-04 eliminates interference much more effectively: with background elimination activated, the device memorizes current signals’ levels and displays peak and averaged values of the detected signals considering background readings while searching for spy bugs. This way current radio field does not affect the search process significantly. Background signal levels are displayed in the right lower part of the screen (Z field) and the power of the radio signals is displayed above (E field).

7. Log generation with PC upload capability. In security mode the device keeps an alert database (spotted radio signals) which is stored in the memory. The device has 4 databases with 2000 logs in each. Each database is capable of storing alerts registered during one security mode session. Then it is overwritten with new data repeatedly. If connected to a PC, the device suggests generating a log in PDF format for each database separately. If required, each log file can be saved for a detailed analysis.

8. Acoustic indication with probing signal. The device features an acoustic control capability meaning that the detected signal is output to the device’s built-in speakers or to headphones. By evaluating the sound volume it is easier to locate a bug. When close to a suspected spy bug’s location, press "COR" button. The device starts emitting a special probing signal. A spy bug receives the signal and transmits it on its own frequency. In return, the detector receives the transfer and informs the user, if the signals match. Probing signal helps to find the precise location of spy bugs and detect those bugs which activate only in the presence of sounds.

9. Autonomous power from a Li-Pol battery. The device is powered by a built-in rechargeable battery, so there’s no need to replace batteries. The battery can be charged by 110/220V power adapter or by PC’s USB port.
10. Solid metal housing. Aluminum alloy housing protects the device from mechanical damage.

OPERATING MODES
Search mode. This is the main mode which is engaged by default. The device displays peak and averaged values. Impulse bugs can be detected by the peak values graph whereas analog bugs – by the averaged values graph. It’s necessary to select which channel to use: ANT1, ANT2 or ANT1+ANT2. We recommend using both channels sequentially: firstly, use ANT1 and then change to ANT2. This way you will find all spy devices around. Using both channels simultaneously is recommended only for an express analysis of the current radio field as in this case the device’s sensitivity will be limited by ANT2 channel parameters.

Oscillograph mode. This is an auxiliary mode used for displaying oscillograms of the radio signal. The purpose of oscillograms is to give the user information about the radio signal’s waveform and how it changes over time in order to identify the spy device emitting this signal. The device can display data from both channels or separately from ANT1 and ANT2. It’s possible to pause rendering oscillograms on the screen for a detailed analysis of the signal.

Protection mode. This mode is used to permanently control the radio field when there are no unidentified signals. For instance, you can use this mode during negotiations or when you leave the area so that you don’t miss new signal sources (e.g. spy bugs with delayed transmission or remotely controlled bugs).
When changing to the protection mode, the device estimates current radio field and memorizes the signal level. Further, it will record all new active signals and add them to the events database, informing the user by either turning the display on, by sound signal or vibration depending on the selected settings.
GUIDELINES FOR SPY BUG SEARCH
Our specialists recommend first checking furniture, suspended ceilings, holes in baseboards or walls, different interior items, heaters etc. Start searching for spyware with ANT1 channel activated. Hold the device at a distance of 30-50 cm (12-20 in) from the investigated surface. Check if the signal level cha
